College students just started the fall semester and the California State University, Stanislaus Police Department has already issued a security notice of a suspicious person on campus.
Students, staff, faculty, and visitors of the CSU Stanislaus campus have been advised about a suspicious person who attempted to grab a students’ arm on the night of Aug. 24.
A suspicious male was observed loitering near the Village Café on Monday night. At 9:15 p.m., a female student approached the east entrance to The Village and when the loitering male attempted to grab her arm, according to a Facebook post made by CSU Stanislaus Police.
“The student dodged his hand, entered The Village and proceeded to her room unharmed,” stated CSU Stanislaus Police.
Police are looking for the suspect.
The suspect is described as a white male, short brown curly hair, approximately 20 to 30 years old, and 5 foot 10 inches tall with a stocky build.
He was wearing a dark T-shirt, jacket, shorts, and was carrying a backpack.
“We take a report of someone trying to grab one of our students very seriously,” states CSU Stanislaus Police. “We have no idea what motivated this person to do what he did but we are determined to find out.”
