On Tuesday, March 7th, 2023, at 5:39 pm, Turlock Police detectives arrived at the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center to conduct follow-up investigation in the armed robbery that had occurred on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2022, at Chevron ExtraMile, 100 E Glenwood Ave, Turlock.
A few days prior, officers had arrested Luis Torres, 21, of El Nido, on weapon charges and a warrant during an unrelated traffic stop. We previously covered the arrest.
Torres was still in custody and he was interviewed about the armed robbery.
Eventually, detectives rearrested and rebooked Torres on charges of robbery and threatening to commit a crime which will result in death or great bodily injury to another person.
“I applaud our staff for their determination and the hard work they continue to demonstrate,” said Turlock Police Captain Miguel Pacheco. “Our staff is committed to solving these types of violent crimes and holding criminals accountable for their actions. The goal of the Turlock Police Department is to keep our community safe,” he continued.
