Vacuum system starts fire in warehouse Tuesday afternoon

On Tuesday, December 6th, 2022, at 12:07 pm, the Turlock Fire Department, Modesto Fire Department, Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigations Unit, Turlock Police Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported commercial working structure fire at Sun Valley Nut, 451 W F St, Turlock.

When crews arrived on scene, they found a single-story warehouse with smoke emitting from a rollup door.

Firefighters made entry into the warehouse and located a fire that had started from a vacuum system. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in about 20 minutes and extinguish it shortly thereafter.

Firefighters remained on scene for an extended period of time after the fire was out conducting overhaul, investigation, and other post-fire activities.

The Turlock Irrigation District and Pacific Gas and Electric Company responded to the scene to secure utilities, while the Modesto Fire Department and Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District provided city coverage for the duration of the incident.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
