Vehicle Crashes into Panda Express Storefront

An elderly woman crashed her vehicle into the storefront window of Turlock's Panda Express on Monday afternoon.

The Turlock Fire Department, Turlock Police Department, American Medical Response and California State University, Stanislaus Police Department were called to the scene at approximately 3:15 p.m. Crews worked together to evacuate the building of patrons and employees, as well as to tow the vehicle out of the storefront.

Mark Gomez and Bill Becker of the Turlock Fire Department said that one person within the restaurant suffered from minor injuries during the incident, and was transported to a local hospital by AMR.

“We know that the incident happened while the woman was parking, however we don’t know exactly how it happened at this point,” said Gomez.

The Turlock Fire Department responded to the incident with two engines, a Battalion Chief, and a Division Chief.

The same Panda Express also had a vehicle drive through the storefront window shortly after the restaurant opened nearly ten years ago.

“It’s strange to see it happen again because this happened when they first opened,” said a bystander at the scene of the incident. “What are the chances of that?”

The woman driving the vehicle did not sustain any injuries due to the collision.
