At about 10:49pm Thursday, Keyes Fire, Turlock Fire, California Highway Patrol, and Stanislaus County Sheriff’s responded to a vehicle fire in the 2200 block of N. Washington Road.

Several callers reported the incident, all giving different cross streets, including W. Tuolumne Road, Fulkerth Road, and W. Main Street, so both Keyes and Turlock fire units responded not knowing in whose territory it was in.

When units arrived on scene, they found a white 2016 Chevrolet Impala fully involved on the west shoulder of the 2200 block of N. Washington, just south of Tuolumne, making it in Keyes’ territory.

Both Keyes and Turlock firefighters began fire attack and quickly extinguished the fire.

The vehicle was completely burned and towed by CHP. It was reported stolen to Turlock Police the next morning.

No injuries were reported.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information that could assist in it is encouraged to call Officer Marco Diaz at 209-668-1200.
