Victim stabbed after man begins random altercation with him Thursday night

On Thursday, June 23rd, 2022, at 11:27 pm, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported aggravated assault near the intersection of Lander Ave and W Main St, Turlock, after a man had reportedly been stabbed there.

When officers arrived in the area, they attempted to make contact with the victim, however, he was uncooperative and rode away on his bicycle.

Paramedics were able to eventually make contact with the victim in the 300 block of E Main St and they transported him to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

Officers went to the hospital to attempt to make contact with the victim again and he was cooperative this time. He told them that the incident had actually occurred at the bus stop in front of Mister Car Wash, 487 N Golden State Blvd. He had been sitting at the bus stop when an unknown male subject approached him and started asking if he was following him. The subject then began assaulting the victim and the victim fought back. At some point during the altercation, the subject stabbed the victim and left. The victim then made his way to Lander Avenue and West Main Street where bystanders began calling police after they saw the man bleeding.
