Homicide – 1000 Block W. Canal Drive
TURLOCK, CA – On Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at approximately 10:16pm, Turlock Police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 1000 block of W. Canal Drive in Turlock, Ca. Officers arrived to find Ignacio Alvarez (41 yrs, Turlock) lying in the common front grass area of the apartment complex. He had been stabbed at least once in the upper torso area.
Turlock Police Officers immediately began providing first aid to the victim until American Medical Response personnel arrived. The victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital. Despite efforts of the medical personnel, Ignacio Alvarez was pronounced dead at approximately 11:15pm.
Turlock Police Investigators were called to the scene where they began processing the crime scene. A possible suspect vehicle has been described as a black or dark color Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon with shiny chrome rims. The possible suspect vehicle was last seen eastbound from the 1000 block of W. Canal Drive. No other suspect information is available for release at this time.
