Walgreens Pharmacy robbed late Saturday morning

On Saturday, October 31st, 2020, at approximately 10:30 am, the Turlock Police Department received a call of a robbery in progress at the Walgreens Pharmacy located at 1591 Geer Rd. The reporting party watched it unfold live on the store’s security cameras. They reported two subjects at the pharmacy trying to take drugs with possibly a gun in one of the subject’s pockets. Officers with both the Turlock Police Department and Stanislaus State Police Department responded and arrived on scene in under two minutes.

Both subjects ran out of the store seconds after the first two officers arrived on scene. Those officers held one subject at gunpoint in front of the business while the other subject fled westbound on Twentieth Century Blvd. They provided other responding officers a description of the second subject and his last known location.

Other officers arrived on scene in the area shortly after and setup a perimeter covering Geer Rd, Twentieth Century Blvd, Almond Ave, N Golden State Blvd, Dels Ln, and W Hawkeye Ave. A canine unit and patrol units with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office were requested to respond to assist with the search, due to the size of the perimeter. Once the canine arrived, a track was started, but turned out nothing. Almost an hour after the perimeter was set up, it was broken down.

This is still an on-going investigation and the second subject is still outstanding. The first subject, that officers detained upon their arrival, was later identified as a juvenile. He was arrested and booked into Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall on charges of robbery.
