Walmart Neighborhood Market Opens Turlock Hiring Center

Looking for a job? A hiring center for Turlock's under-construction Walmart Neighborhood Market opened Monday, promising as many as 95 full- and part-time jobs.

“We are excited to add the first Walmart Neighborhood Market to Turlock and bring good jobs with great career opportunities to the area,” said store manager Everton Lira.

Walmart spokesperson Delia Garcia told TurlockCityNews.com in April that “the majority” of positions at Walmart are full-time. The average hourly full-time Walmart employee earns $12.93 per hour in California, she said.

Walmart offers health and well-being benefits, according to the company, and matching 401(k) contributions to eligible associates. Associates also have access to quarterly incentives, discounted merchandise, life insurance, and a stock purchase program.

Special Walmart hiring practices offer an additional benefit to returning veterans. Any qualified veteran who was honorably discharged within the past 12 months will be offered a job through Walmart's Veterans Welcome Home Commitment.

The new store, under construction at the former home of Turlock's Mervyn's store, will open this summer, Walmart said. Most employees would begin work in July.

The Hiring Center will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Hiring Center is located at 2101 Geer Rd., Ste. 107. Applications are also accepted online at http://careers.walmart.com/.
