At about 12:21am Wednesday morning, Officer Ruiz got out with an occupied suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Tractor Supply Co. in the 200 block of N. Walnut Road.

Ruiz made contact with and identified the vehicle’s three occupants, including Alfredo Ruis, 41, of Turlock.

When Ruiz had his dispatcher run the three, he discovered that Ruis was a sex offender out of compliance who was locally wanted for petty theft, grand theft, conspiracy, and organized retail theft, and also had a $50,000 felony bench warrant out of Mariposa County for grand theft and conspiracy.

Ruis was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of failing to register as a sex offender, petty theft, grand theft, conspiracy, and organized retail theft, as well as his warrant.

The vehicle’s other two occupants hadn’t committed any crimes and were released, while Ruis’ vehicle was impounded.
