After a fight broke out on the final night of the Stanislaus County Fair, Turlock police spent the night of July 20 following several leads before eventually arresting two suspects on a gun charge and a parole violation, respectively..

At approximately 10:10 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of Canal Drive and North Broadway Avenue on the report of a fight. Suspects were fighting over a girl, said Turlock police spokesperson Lt. Ron Reid.

When officers arrived, they located several people pointing down an alley in the area, and found two victims, ages 18 and 20, who were allegedly jumped in the fight, Reid said.

At this time, Turlock police were unable to locate the suspects.

Around 10:50 p.m., the Turlock Police Department received a report of the the three suspects, one allegedly with a handgun, entering a vehicle, said Reid.

Officers were able to quickly located the vehicle on Park Street, but were unable to locate any of the suspects.

Approximately an hour later, Turlock police received a report of subjects at a residence on the 100 block of Farr Street brandishing firearms, said Reid.

Officers arrived at the residence, but the suspects allegedly fled on foot, said Reid. They were apprehended shortly after.

In total, Turlock police detained temporarily 15 subjects, according to Reid.

Officers on scene located a loaded 9mm handgun and a loaded 12-gauge shotgun that had been discarded, said Reid. A 17-year-old, of Turlock, admitted that the handgun belonged to him and was arrested for possession of a loaded firearm. It was not revealed who owned the shotgun.

Another subject at the scene, William McCombs, 43, of Turlock was arrested for a parole violation, according to the Turlock Police Department.
