On Saturday, November 6th, 2022, at 10:54 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported larceny in progress at Kohl’s, 2751 Countryside Dr, Turlock.

Officers arrived on scene and were met by loss prevention out front who told them that there was a woman inside of the store, later identified as Monica Diaz Chavez, 33, of Turlock, who was concealing merchandise in a bag that she had brought into the store which was attached to a stroller.

Officers waited outside for Chavez and she eventually exited the store with the unpaid merchandise.

Officers confronted Chavez and asked if they could see the “baby” in her stroller, however, came across the unpaid merchandise underneath a blanket.

Chavez was arrested and released on a citation on charges of theft.
