On Thursday, November 3rd, 2022, at 11:56 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported attempted robbery that had just occurred at Grocery Outlet Bargain Market, 1330 W Main St, Turlock.

Officers arrived on scene and located their suspect, Kourtnee Allen, 21, of Turlock, still at the business. She was detained for further investigation.

Officers began investigating and determined that Allen had entered the business and begun concealing merchandise on her person in the presence of a child. An employee confronted Allen and asked her to return the items, when she refused and attempted to pepper spray him. A struggle then ensued which led to Allen biting the employee’s arm.

When officers had their dispatcher run Allen, she returned with two misdemeanor bench warrants. The first one was a $5,000 one for shoplifting and the second one was a $10,000 one for possession of methamphetamines.

Allen was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of attempted robbery and committing an act which causes, tends to cause, or encourages a juvenile to become a delinquent, as well as her two warrants.
