Woman arrested after breaking into home’s detached garage Sunday morning

On Sunday, June 26th, 2022, at 9:20 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported trespass that had just occurred at a residence in the 200 block of E Linwood Ave, Turlock, after a woman had been seen in the backyard of the residence stealing recyclables.

The woman had gotten into a vehicle and fled the area, however, the victim was able to get her vehicle description and license plate number prior to her escape.

About twenty minutes later, an officer in the 200 block of Almond Ave came across the vehicle with the woman in a nearby dumpster. She was detained in handcuffs for further investigation and identified as Carrie Miller, 48, of Ceres.

During the investigation, officers discovered that Miller had not only stolen recyclables from the backyard, however, she had also made entry into a detached garage. It’s currently unclear whether anything was stolen from said detached garage.

Ultimately, Miller was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of burglary.
