On Sunday, September 18th, 2022, at 5:36 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported assault and battery in progress at Envy Fine Clothing, 5 E Main St, Turlock.

Officers arrived on scene and found the woman responsible for the incident in front of the business. She was identified as Amy Renee Dompeling, 37, of Oregon, and was detained in handcuffs for further investigation.

Officers began investigating and learned that Dompeling had previously purchased an item from the business that she was upset with, so she had returned to replace it. Dompeling selected an item off of a shelf and attempted to leave the business without paying for it, when she was confronted by an employee. Dompeling then hit the employee and exited the business, where she was found by officers shortly later.

Dompeling was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of robbery.
