At about 8:02pm Monday night, Turlock Police responded to a vehicle collision in the 200 block of N. Soderquist Road.

When officers arrived on scene, they found that a red 2015 Toyota Tacoma had crashed into the fence dividing the two directions of travel.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Lidia Bettencourt, 29, of Gustine. Both Bettencourt and her small child passenger were uninjured.

When officers had their dispatcher run Bettencourt, they discovered that she had a $2,500 local misdemeanor bench warrant for theft.

Bettencourt’s vehicle sustained minor damage, however, due to the type of damage it was, her vehicle was deemed inoperable and was required to be towed away from the scene. On-call city crews responded out for the fence.

It’s currently unknown how the collision occurred.

Bettencourt was arrested and released on a citation for her warrant.
