Woman flees from police after stealing from Walgreens and rams their vehicles

On Thursday, July 28th, 2020, at approximately 4:30 am, the Turlock Police Department received a call of a trespassing at the Walgreens located at 1591 Geer Rd. When the first officer arrived on scene, he was told that the suspect had stolen merchandise and taken off in a vehicle. An officer responding to the call noticed the vehicle leaving the scene. The officer caught up to it and lit it up. The vehicle failed to yield to him, and a pursuit ensued. Speeds reached 70 mph at one point. The vehicle took officers on a chase throughout southwest Turlock before arriving at Larchwood Ct.

When the vehicle arrived at Larchwood Ct, the suspect made a u-turn to try to get back on to E Linwood Ave. The vehicle was blocked in the cul-de-sac by two Turlock Police vehicles. The vehicle then rammed both police vehicles and escaped westbound on E Linwood Ave. Eventually, the vehicle broke down on S Soderquist Rd at the railroad tracks between Vermont Ave and High St. The suspect then leg-bailed from the vehicle. The suspect tried to evade officers on foot, however, was caught by a detective in plainclothes. She was taken into custody without further incident.

The suspect has been identified as Sabrina Haney, 23, of Hughson. She was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on two counts of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, felony evasion, possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest, petty theft, and driving without a license, after being medically cleared at a local hospital.
