Woman laying on railroad tracks arrested on five warrants Friday afternoon

On Friday, March 17th, 2023, at 12:33 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a security check in the 400 block of S Tully Rd, Turlock, after a woman had been seen laying on the railroad tracks.

When officers arrived on scene, they found the woman still on the tracks all spread out.

The woman gave officers an alias, however, that was enough to discover her real name of Maria Lopez, 53, of Turlock.

When officers had their dispatcher run Lopez, they discovered that she had five local misdemeanor bench warrants. The first one was a $555,555 one for possession of methamphetamines, the second one was a $10,555 one for falsely identifying to a peace officer and trespassing, the third one was a $10,555 one for falsely identifying to a peace officer and possession of methamphetamines, the fourth one was a $5,555 one for possession of methamphetamines, and the fifth one was a $5,555 one for unlawful camping and storage of personal property in public places.

Lopez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on her warrants.
