Woman leads police on high speed pursuit Wednesday night

On Wednesday, December 2nd, 2020, shortly after 11:55 pm, a Turlock Police officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a white GMC SUV for failing to stop at a stop sign in the area of N Broadway and Front St. The vehicle failed to yield when officers activated their emergency lights and a pursuit ensued at high rates of speed.

The vehicle lead officers north on N Golden State Blvd where it turned west on West Monte Vista Ave and took officers northbound on State Route 99. The vehicle then exited in Keyes where it went around in a circle in its downtown area before heading to Ceres. Officers lost the vehicle somewhere in Ceres and terminated the pursuit.

Stanislaus State Police Department and the Ceres Police Department assisted in the pursuit. Officers were able to identity the driver as a female. During the pursuit, the vehicle almost collided with another vehicle as it ran the red light at N Golden State Blvd and W Monte Vista Ave. The investigation remains on-going.
