On Monday, October 31st, 2022, at 4:44 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a larceny in progress at Kohl’s, 2751 Countryside Dr, Turlock, after a known shoplifter had been seen loading up a large amount of clothes and jewelry in a shopping cart.

By the time officers arrived on scene, the woman, later identified as Monalisa Carranza, 45, of Livingston, had already left the business with the unpaid merchandise.

Officers located Carranza nearby and discovered that she was in possession of the unpaid merchandise.

Carranza originally provided officers with a fake name, however, later admitted to who she really was.

When officers had their dispatcher run Carranza, she returned with two $10,000 misdemeanor bench warrants for drug related charges, the first one out of Livingston and the second one out of Merced County.

Carranza was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of theft and falsely identifying to a peace officer, as well as her warrants.
