Wrong man contacted on suspicious person call arrested on three felony warrants early Monday morning

On Monday, November 28th, 2022, at 1:57 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported suspicious person near the intersection of E Tuolumne Rd and Bucknell St, Turlock, who was lighting random things on fire.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted a man later identified as Alfredo Espinoza, 31, of Orland.

Espinoza was determined to not be the man officers were looking for, however, when they had their dispatcher run him, he returned with three local felony bench warrants. The first one was a $100,500 one for attempted burglary, the second one was a $50,500 one for possession of a weapon in a prison or jail and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, and the third one was a $100,500 one for possession of ammunition by a prohibited person.

Espinoza was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrants.

The man who officers had originally been looking for was never located.
