For the past 28 years, the Yosemite Renaissance art competition and exhibit has challenged artists to create and share diverse artistic representations of Yosemite National Park. Starting July 30, the Yosemite Renaissance XXVIII exhibit will be on display at the Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock.

“This is an especially engaging show,” said Rebecca Phillips Abbott, Executive Director and Curator of the Carnegie Arts Center.

For decades, artists have used art to help establish the renown of both national and state parks.

The Yosemite Renaissance art competition and exhibit strives to continue that tradition, using art as a means to preserve and protect the value of wilderness and the national heritage that it characterizes. The exhibit uses contemporary artwork to represent both the national park and past generations of Yosemite artists.

The exhibit features works from 41 artists, composed with various art mediums such as photography, wood engraving, pencil, oil paint, ceramic, mixed media and much more.

The Yosemite Renaissance XXVIII exhibit will be on display at the Carnegie Arts Center from July 30 to September 29. The Carnegie Arts Center is located at 250 N. Broadway, Turlock.
