The annual “Christmas in Carols” event returns this year to First United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday. This musical treat is a concert featuring four musical groups that represent all ages.
“The event is important to the community because it gives us time – even for an hour or so – to experience timeless, beautiful music inspired by the birth of Jesus,” said Joe Major, Pastor of First United Methodist Church. “The event helps to remind us of the true meaning of Christmas, and to celebrate God's presence among us.”
“Christmas in Carols” will be held in the Sanctuary and led by Rebecca Somers, Director of Music at First United Methodist Church. The event will feature the church’s Chancel Choir, Carillon Handbell Ensemble, Gracenotes Choir and Exultate Children’s Choir as well as organist and pianist Dr. John Hillebrant.
Those who attend are also welcome to sing along with the Christmas hymns to celebrate the season.
The event is entirely free and will be held at First United Methodist Church, 1660 Arbor Way, Turlock.
