Staff has been working with IT to update a variety of information provided on the Municipal Services section of the City website.  Included in the updates is detailed information on the water meter program, as well as an overview on how to read your water meter.  With the upcoming switch in billing for residential customers, the information should provide a better understanding of the water meter program as a whole.

The Stanislaus County Fair wrapped up without any significant problems.  During the 10-day run, in the general area of the Fair, we arrested:

8 – for public intoxication

17 – for driving while intoxicated

5 – for warrants

3 – for fighting

The number of intoxicated drivers includes saturation patrol, but does not include the checkpoint set up during the first Friday evening.

We also handled five collisions in the area and one property damage.  Ten cars were removed by tow for unsafe parking violations.  Remarkably, there were no auto thefts and only a single auto burglary reported within a two block radius of the fair.

A black male adult opened the passenger door of a victim’s car, as she was seated inside counting her money.  He took cash and jewelry.  It is unknown if he was armed, although he pushed something against her side.

A black male adult pushed an employee at a fruit stand and took their money bucket.  It is unknown if the two robberies might be connected.
