CSU Stanislaus “Carolfest” To Spread Holiday Cheer on Sunday

If you’ve never been caroling, make it a point to attend California State University, Stanislaus’ “Carolfest” for what promises to be an evening of holiday cheer and joy.

Join in for this special celebration of the season this Sunday. “Carolfest” has two performances, one at 2 p.m. and one at 6 p.m.
The CSU Stanislaus choral ensembles will perform under the direction of Daniel R. Afonso, Jr., Director of Choral and Vocal Studies. The shows will include both traditional and contemporary holiday music.

This year’s “Carolfest” will feature four guest ensembles. At the 2 p.m. performance, Los Banos High School Chamber singers and Thomas Downey High School Madrigals will be performing. The Turlock High School Cantate and Ripon High School Concert Choir will perform at the 6 p.m. show.

The show also has an interactive element, inviting the audience to join in with the choirs while they sing several traditional carols throughout the concert.

Tickets are $15, and they sell out fast. Purchase tickets online at http://bit.ly/Carolfest2013.

Proceeds benefit the Music Scholarship Fund. Parking is free in Lot 3, and maps of campus are available on the school website at www.csustan.edu/maps.
