CSU Stanislaus to Hold Free Workshop on Portuguese Genealogy

The California State University Stanislaus Center for Portuguese Studies will offer a workshop on March 23 for people interested in learning how to research their lineage.

The free interactive workshop will give attendees the unique opportunity to learn more about their roots, and allow participants to ask questions regarding their own individual research or how to get started on researching family lineage.

João Ventura, a premier genealogy researcher in the Azores, will present the workshop at CSU Stanislaus. Ventura is fluent in English, and will present the day-long workshop in English.

Although the workshop is free and open to the public, registration is still required. A lunch break is scheduled from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.; and attendees can either bring their own lunch or purchase lunch on campus for $25.

For more information or to register, contact Elmano Costa at 209-667-3638 or by e-mail at ecosta@csustan.edu.
