High school students interested in attending one of the nation's military academies, take notice.
U.S. Rep. and Air Force veteran Jeff Denham (R-Turlock) will hold a U.S. Military Academy Information Night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at Gregori High School in Modesto.
The event is open to all parents and students in 8th through 12th grade from California’s 10th District. The U.S. Navy, Air Force, Army, Merchant Marines and Coast Guard will have representatives in attendance to provide interested students with details of each academy’s work educating, training and preparing students for military service. Representatives from Denham’s office will also be present.
“As an Air Force veteran, I am proud to nominate students from our district each year to military academies that will inspire and prepare them to serve,” said Denham. “Military Academy Information Night helps answer any questions they may have about the nomination process, and I hope that this event will be as successful as last year’s, which included over 200 attendees.”
