This month’s Turlock Unified School District Character Counts Student of the Month is Dennis Earl Elementary School 5th grader Leena Sanchez, 10, representing the character trait of fairness.

Leena’s favorite subject is science and she loves learning about life and earth. Her future goal is to become an expert computer technician, and she plans to become a Duck at the University of Oregon. In her free time, Leena enjoys cheerleading.

Leena’s teacher, Natalie Hayes, shared the following about her character.

“It is hard to sum up Leena’s character in just fairness because she exhibits every character trait in the classroom and around campus. Leena exemplifies fairness, she is a true leader and leads by example. She is kind to others and a good friend to all. Her teacher can depend on her to help other students and treat others with respect. Leena is a true and honest person and I’m thrilled to have Leena in my class. I would like to also add that Leena is a member of my student leadership team.”
