Fix Planned for Taylor Road/Golden State Traffic Signal

David Fransen

Nearly a week after a traffic signal broke down at the intersection of Golden State Boulevard and Taylor Road, flashing a red light for the majority of the time, the City of Turlock has a solution planned.

According to City of Turlock Utilities Manager Larry Gilley the light at the intersection experienced a problem with the detector loops, making the signal incapable of detecting approaching vehicles.

The city is currently in the process of obtaining a quote from a contractor to fix the detector loops at the traffic signal, which should occur within the next 5 to 8 days. The City of Turlock hopes to have the light completely fixed within the next week or so.

In the meantime, the city has changed the traffic signal from the flashing red recall light to a timed traffic signal until the detector loops are repaired.
