Lander Avenue Hit and Run Victim on Life Support, Suspect Sought by Turlock Police

Turlock Police Department responded to a hit and run collision, at approximately 6:15am, on Lander Avenue near B Street in Turlock. A vehicle struck a pedestrian who was pushing a shopping cart across the street. The victim has been identified by family members as Emanuel Machado, 52 of Turlock. Emanuel suffered life threatening injuries, was transported to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, and is currently on life support.

Witnesses described the vehicle that fled the scene as a dark colored SUV, possibly a 2002-2003 Ford Escape. The vehicle may have damage to the passenger side.
