Letter to the Editor by Kristen Santos: Scandinavian Block at Taste of Turlock 2010

Do you have a Scandinavian heritage?  Are you interested in all things Scandinavian?  On Thursday, March 25, at 7:00 p.m. there will be an informational/brainstorming session to plan a Scandinavian block for the upcoming event, “Taste of Turlock 2010.”  We will meet in the classroom at Turlock Covenant Village (2125 North Olive Avenue).  Please bring your ideas on how to celebrate Turlock’s Scandinavian culture.  If you have any questions please contact Kristen Santos at (209)485-2901 or by email (animalfarm@earthlink.net).

“Taste of Turlock 2010” is an admission-free, community event sponsored by the Turlock Downtown Association.  It will be held May 1 from 11a.m. to 5 p.m. This year the event will include a multicultural theme with Turlock’s cultural groups each presenting their food, entertainment, activities, fashion, history, and more.  Each cultural group will house a distinct city block on a closed-off Main Street (and some side streets).  The participating downtown restaurants and food-related vendors from the Turlock area will continue to offer food & drink tastings to attendees purchasing a wrist band.
