A male subject attempted to lure a 15-year-old girl who was walking to school into his vehicle on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Turlock Police Department.

The incident occurred on West Avenue, near Lander Avenue, shortly before 12:40 p.m.

The victim, a 15-year-old girl, was walking to the Fusion Charter School when a male in a white minivan approached her and asked her to get in the vehicle, said Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

According to Lewis, the suspect kept following and telling the victim to get into the van, but she repeatedly said no.

Eventually, the victim ran to the school and told officials, who reported the incident to the Turlock Police Department.

The suspect was described as possibly an Indian male with black hair and a black beard, possibly wearing a black shirt. He was driving a white minivan and was last seen traveling on Montana Avenue in an unknown direction.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Turlock Police Department at 209-668-1200.
