A suspect jumped the fence into a gated community in an attempt to flee officers, but ultimately he and two other suspects were arrested for shoplifting on Saturday evening.

Turlock police responded to Kohl’s at approximately 4:17 p.m. on Saturday after receiving report of shoplifting.

Two female suspects, Mingnon Coleman, 21, and Marcia Aguilar, 19, were both arrested for shoplifting, reports the Turlock Police Department.

One suspect, later identified as Edward Costa, 28, allegedly fled from officers, according to Turlock police.

Costa ran across the street and jumped a fence into a gated community located off Tuolumne Road, said Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. Stephen Webb.

Officers were ultimately able to apprehend Costa on the 2700 block of Jubilee Drive.

Turlock police called for an ambulance as Costa was experiencing medical issues after running, said Webb.
