Police arrested a male suspect shortly after midnight on Monday after a pursuit ended with the suspect jumping out of a moving vehicle and fleeing on foot.

At approximately 12:08 a.m. on Monday, a suspect, later identified as Nicholas Hays, 28, was driving a stolen vehicle on Monte Vista Avenue.

Officers attempted to stop Hays, but the suspect led police on a pursuit into Denair, according to Turlock police.

The pursuit ended when Hays jumped from the moving vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, reports the Turlock Police Department.

The vehicle collided with a pole after Hays jumped from the vehicle.

Hays was not able to get far and was apprehended by officers

He was arrested and booked for felony evading, hit and run, auto theft, possession of burglary tools, and possession of methamphetamine.
