Suspects Wanted for Hitting, Robbing 66-Year-Old Ice Cream Vendor

Turlock police are looking for three male subjects suspected of hitting and robbing a 66-year-old ice cream vendor on Friday.

According to Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis, a vehicle occupied by three subjects pulled up next to an ice cream man riding his vendor cart on the 1000 block of Canal Drive around 6:20 p.m.

The three suspects began hitting the victim, a 66-year-old male, and stole his wallet, said Lewis.

A witness pulled up and the three suspects fled in a dark red SUV. Witnesses followed the suspects, but lost sight shortly after. The suspects were last seen traveling westbound on W. Main Street from Grant Avenue.

Turlock police received report of the robbery just after it occurred and advised the Ceres Police Department that the suspect may be heading to Ceres, said Lewis.

The three suspects remain at large and have been described as three Hispanic males in their 20s. The suspects were in a dark red SUV.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the robbery, however, the injuries were deemed to be non-life-threatening.
