TID Agenda for March 12 Full of Reports

A report-laden meeting awaits the Turlock Irrigation District Board of Directors on Tuesday, with no action items scheduled.

On Tuesday, the Turlock Irrigation District Board of Directors is expected to:
• Receive an update on public hearings being held by the State Water Resource Control Board to discuss a proposed change in water law, which would require TID to send 35 percent of unimpeded flows down the Tuolumne River.
The state says the additional water would benefit native fish populations, while TID points to evidence that the water would be of little help as non-native fish eat the native smelt. Should the water be diverted from TID's reservoir, as many as 800 family farms could be shuttered due to lack of water, according to the district.
• Hear weekly updates on electrical service, power generation, irrigation water availability, and the status of irrigation season.
• Hear a monthly report on the activities of TID's Water Resources Administration.
• Hear a report on recent action taken by the Don Pedro Board of Control.

The Turlock Irrigation District Board of Directors will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Board Room of the TID Main Office Building, 333 E. Canal Dr., Turlock.
