Turlock Firefighters to Host Annual Boot Drive Today

Turlock’s firefighters are out in Monte Vista Crossings today, hoping to fill their boots to raise money for Turlock Fire Local #2434’s “Random Acts of Kindness” fund.

Firefighters will be out on Monte Vista Avenue and Countryside Drive from about 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today with boots in hand.

Last year’s annual Fill the Boot Drive raised $15,977.36 for the Fire Union’s “Random Acts of Kindness” fund.

The “Random Acts of Kindness” fund is intended to be used to benefit the local community in some way.

The fund was recently used to replace the bleachers at the Julien Elementary Baseball Diamond, after the aluminum bleachers were stolen on Feb. 20. Local firefighters donated their time, as well as money from the fund, to install new wooden bleachers at the baseball field.
